Pump Fake, Beyoncé’s “Lemonade” Is Not For Us Fellas

Hey fellas, quick message, Beyoncé’s Lemonade is not for you. Before you attack with “aren’t you the same guy who said to be a Bey fan?” yes, that’s me and I stand by it. Beyoncé is great, enjoyable, outstanding but her newest effort isn’t for you bro. During this season we have to sip something else, Orange Juice, yeah that’s it, OJ, no Simpson.

If you are like me you watched big homie Hov fall to Bey’s ankles, literally, and cringed after a barrage of “I’m the baddest bitch alive,” “how dumb are you to cheat?” and “ain’t no sorry lil nigga” tunes.

Before I get attacked by the Hive, I am not slandering Beyonce’s newest release. It’s actually a very solid piece of work. The production is A1, you may find me blasting Bey and Abel’s “6 Inch” one day, vocal range on “Sandcastles” is amazing, but as a man it’s not much for me and my bretheren to take a listen to and that’s cool.

We can wait a few extra days for Drake day. Everything ain’t about us.

But back to my fellow brother, Lemonade is not our hub. It’s not our sanctuary. I do suggest you listen for artistry, understand the root of the jokes that damn near are doing more damage than “Ether” did and to see the power, dominance and calculated terror that can come if you happen to get a “Becky with good hair” or a black chick who needs hot combs and flat irons on the side. It’s not pretty.

And as another warning to all of you: don’t challenge women on this album. Not in the quality of the album, because it is of great quality and you will and should lose that argument. Not in the necessity of the album, cause, duh. Not in the argument of did Jay do it or did he not, because that doesn’t matter either. There are women all over the world who have a man that Jay’d and the relevance is still there.

So my brothers, to make it easy on yourself, acknowledge that Beyoncé is great, don’t dabble in Lemonade if it will compel you to feel some type of way and if you happen to want to let a tweet out that can be perceived as Anti-Lemonade, just send it to your squad, chances are they will be more accepting of it.
