19-Year-Old Entrepreneur Keeps Things Nostalgic
D'Andre Legrand turns up the nostalgia in his line of corduroy hats.
A lack of knowledge on where to start, experience, and funds keep many aspiring entrepreneurs from working towards their vision, but 19-year-old D’Andre Legrand rebuked discouragement to launch a line of corduroy hats circulating the streets of Brooklyn known as Nostalgia NYC.
A year ago, the Flatbush native and SUNY Old Westbury Sophomore, came up with the idea to start selling Nostalgia hats, “a modern trendy style of hats with corduroy, reminiscent of certain 90’s snapbacks.” Through the use of five colors (khaki, black, maroon, sky blue, navy blue), and corduroy fabric, D’Andre evokes nostalgia; a word he describes as “happiness.”
